The Ugly news is that 40% of the births in 2007 were to unmarried women. By contrast, in the 1950's the unmarried birth rate hovered around 4% -- a tenfold difference. A large number of the unwed mothers and their children will require significant government financial support for unknown portions of their life-spans. And, despite claims for the delights of cohabitation and the joys of single motherhood by choice, the hard social science and economic realities are that children of unwed mothers - as a group - fare more poorly than their intact family counterparts on virtually all measures, including their eventual social and economic contributions to society. The prospects for this 40% of the Baby Boom II generation, based on social science research, would be worrisome in good economic times -- and likely will be worse in hard economic times. As they enter adulthood, these children are much more likely to become criminals and unproductive economically than children of married parents. As always, dads matter.

Regarding your latest entry about the Times of London article, detailing the woman who supposedly had a long term incestuous relationship with her brother - I'm probably not the only one thinking that the entire thing was made up. You noted that it "...reads like a titillating romance novel..." That's kind of the tip off, right there. Considering that the woman is never revealed, either in name or photo, it means anybody could be writing anything, and who would know the difference? (And actually, even if she was revealed in name or photo, I'm at a point where I wouldn't automatically believe that either! As I'll explain.) Truthseekers and "conspiracy" researchers are familiar with the way in which politics and news events are spun in the media, but I'm getting to the point where I really am questioning whether or not most of what we're seeing/reading/hearing in the media isn't just completely made up, with ghost writers and aliases, actors and actresses, the whole shebang. Especially when it concerns stuff like this Times UK column, where the agenda is multi-fold: Entertainment and distraction (the "oh no she didn't!" shocked response, then tsk tsk'ing about it with friends, family or coworkers, providing endless gossipy entertainment); social engineering (pushing various agendas, in this case incest, as you've outlined) and so on. For those sorts of things it makes sense that The Powers That Be would invent stuff out of thin air in their desperation to push their various agendas. And the language of the write up reads like a third rate romance/sex novel, which again, also kind of gives it away right there.

Previously I looked at stories like this, and the myriad of others like them in the media, as merely "people being stupid." I believed they were real, but it was just, you know....stupid people. People not like me. People with very different priorities and life experiences. Now I'm at a point where I'm going, You know, if TV tabloid talk shows like "Jerry Springer" and all the others that were so popular in the 90s were fake and scripted in order to generate viewers and $$$ advertising $$$ revenue, then who's to say that half of what we see and hear in the mainstream "respectable" media isn't also fake and scripted? Serving some sort of agenda? Be it $$$ revenue dollars $$$, entertainment/distraction, and social engineering? So that's the point where I'm at right now, and just wanted to pass that idea along for consideration. Things aren't always what they seem to be.......

Less than one man per thousand is ever brought up on either statutory, or criminal rape charges. Many young boys who succeed with one sibling will go on to assault other female relatives as well. I knew a family in which incest was rampant between a teenage son, and his female relatives as young as five years of age. In later years all of his victims developed cervical cancer from having been exposed to the HPV virus at an early age, and all required a hysterectomy.

I believe that G-d gave us the laws for good reasons. The laws are there to protect our health (mental and physical), safety and happiness. It is against G-d's laws to commit incest, maybe it was necessary in the beginning but now it is "NOT OK!".

This incest business could easily start to get out of hand, but is also quite ancient. The Talmud allows a woman to have sexual intercourse with her son as long as he is less than nine years old, (Steinsaltz Talmud vol. 19, p 13, Sanhedrin 69b.); so it is rabbinically permissible. Most Jews, not up on their Talmud, would probably be surprised and distressed at this. There is, of course, nothing like that in Christian holy writ.

This was very disturbing to read. Ironically I made a sarcastic comeback to homosexuality on the same lines (if homosexuality is biologically ok then you'd cheer for incest next?) and now to see it becoming a reality is horrifying.

As a Muslim I find the single minded devotion of Hollywood and US Televison to "intimacy" disgusting. This is humanity at its lowest.

Not only is intimacy outside of marriage an attack on nuclear families but an attack on the mental and emotional well being of all members of society. An overdose of sexuality harms normal human relations where there can be no normal interaction between a man and a woman or for that matter between any two adults- without intimacy coming into the picture. It truly is disgusting.

It's been common knowledge to the general public in the States, at least since after WWI, all along that the royal families and aristocracies of Europe and Britain intermarry to the point of inbreeding. I recall we learned that even in grade school. I don't know whether that's in the approved curriculum of Crown commonwealth countries, who are obliged to respect the royals of England.

When I minored in socio-cultural anthropology, we were told more detail which the general public aren't so informed about. It turns out that where you have a royalty class, that is, lines of power passed down generationally in families, in all such cultures whether 'civilized' or 'primal', invariably the 'taboo forgiveness' for that class includes what's ruled incest to their non-aristocrat population.

The practice was done not only to keep property and power tightly held withing a tiny elite ruling caste, but in each of those cultures there was an esoteric belief system that they thought they had superior qualities of a divine nature. In Europe it was the concept of 'Divine Right' as the royalty were thought to have special blood in touch with the supernatural diety. In the Roman and Egyptian they believed the bloodline was descended from a god mating with a human female concubine. Both Leonides of Sparta, and the Roman Emperor Commodus claimed descent from the Son of Zeus, Hercules.

Because they believed these things, incest was always deliberately held exclusive to the elite class in all those cultures. It was a heavy taboo for the people.

So the question is, why are they 'mainstreaming' this particular deviancy now in our western post-modern culture?

The emphasis of the public relations has done a one-eighty degree flip since then. Initially it was to make the Illuminati cult celebrities appear to lead the same wholesome lives as the boy and girl next door. Now the op is to make little kids in the checkout line get the impression that the boy and girl next door are 'doin' it' and not only that, they're brother and sister.

Fabian Socialist Crown Charted social engineering strategist Lord Bertrand Russell wrote extensively on 'scientific' methods of social engineering through the public schools toward the ruling class goal of destroying the nuclear family of the 'commoners'. He understood and wrote that the further before puberty children could be encouraged to experiment with sex with each other that forming mature love bonds with anyone as an adult would be impossible for that person.

There has already been a pandemic of teen and pre-teen sex outside the home for decades with catastrophic effects on stability and sanity of families to cope with, and generatons of emotionally arrested people as a result. But when that happens to a little girl or boy outside the home at least the possibility of family support is intact.

One can easily see that if child experimentation' prompted by toxic propaganda on magazine racks in grocery store lines and on television and music videos occurs inside the home between siblings, the damage to the family is internal, and thus infinitely more difficult to resolve as a family.
